Keith Cronin is an in-demand business consultant, speaker and founder of The Solar Business Blueprint, a life changing training program that assists business owners with the tools, resources and metrics needed to grow and manage their solar businesses. He has helped solar companies achieve their goals through his training, speeches, coaching sessions and products. Keith’s life changing message reaches people all over the US, Canada, Central and South America. After his company was acquired by SunEdison, he decided to help people and serve others in Hawaii and across the globe. Keith lives in Kailua, Hawaii.
With a humble beginning, he started his solar integration company in February of 1999. Our service suite was broad in context, as solar was still in its infancy. We provided energy services to the DoD, State of Hawaii, Commercial and Residential clients via education, choices and solutions customized to their needs. As solar started its climb in Hawaii, so did that portion of our services. We soon were blessed with an abundance of opportunities to serve our island community with emancipating them from the unbridled and spiraling energy costs that seemed to grow exponentially each month.
Fast forward to 2007. Having a relationship with SunEdison and its founders, we wanted to be part of a global company and recognized the value of scaling up the business with the best and the brightest and Island Energy Solutions was acquired. Joining a global company and the brain trust imbued the strengthening of our team in Hawaii and fostered sharing best practices across the business segments.
Post my exit, I wanted to still serve the solar community and started SunHedge. The desire to serve in the solar industry was still coursing through my veins, but in a different capacity. Helping new companies implement strategies and solutions to scale their businesses was not only exciting, but very rewarding.
As the last couple of years have marched on, many mainland companies have expressed an interest in entering the market here and have looked for someone who has “boots on the ground” and understands how local business is done. This has allowed many partnerships to be formed in a host of ways. Whether it has been assisting with project development to providing structured financing for deal acquisition, each situation has presented its own custom solution.
There has also been a demand for one on one consulting to some of the top local solar firms in Hawaii to accelerate their success in not just making more sales, but profitable sales via a systemized approach of shared accountability.
Other local companies have requested doing seminars, which we have also done to support and create transparency in the market here which has added value to not just solar companies, but state officials, lending institution representatives, engineering companies and local law firms.
