I was on a bike ride last night and heard that lyric.

And it hit me…

“Wow, it REALLY is true:

The moment we’re born, we forget why we’re here and are quickly brainwashed by “reality;”

Being constantly influenced, persuaded and conditioned into robotic submission.”

Sounds like really good advertising, right?

Yup.

And let’s face it…

Many, many, many of today’s rituals were born in advertising campaigns a long time ago…

From brushing our teeth to buying diamond engagement rings.

Which means that…

Advertising really does change and influence society.

Which also means that… as advertisers…

We have a responsibility to lift people up with our campaigns… and HELP them adopt NEW, empowering habits.

Okay, okay, okay…

You might consider that last statement a BIG leap.

But think about it…

If we’re helping mold the society that influences who each of us are… though advertising…

Don’t we want to put our products and services out there in a way that, you know… actually helps consumers open back up to the reason they were born?

Like… not just promising people a ripped, sexy stomach…

But giving them the tools and insights to overcome the self-destructive, emotional habits that made the fat, out-of-shape belly to begin with?

In my opinion…

That’s our legacy. That’s our immortality. That’s our opportunity.

Here’s what I mean…

One of the strongest NEEDS people instinctually crave is… having a purpose; that they’re not just arbitrarily here — being bounced around like an insignificant pinball.

And if you can reach that NEED… within your prospects… to feel awake, alive and in-control of their destinies…

You WILL make more money.

You’ll also be a part of something bigger than just marketing;

You’ll be instrumental in helping influence a better, more authentic society…

One sale at a time.

And quite frankly…

Why NOT take on that role in your marketing?!?!

Because the fact is…

People are fucking desperate to feel a sense purpose.

They WANT you to influence them into making goals that shatter their limitations… and help them open back up to their real potential.

This is an important issue for me, because I was more fortunate than many.

I had a mom who… while fucking crazy… supported me to stay open throughout my childhood…

While I honed in upon “my gifts” and “remembered” why I was born.

That’s how I taught myself to SEE the emotion behind what people say, do… and want.

And it’s that skill; the skill of seeing emotion… that turned me into a top copywriter.

What if you can “give people permission” to change their lives and feel an awakened sense of purpose… through your next product launch or marketing campaign?

Again, as a product developer or service provider…

You have an amazing opportunity to connect with people’s deeper need to STOP FEELING LOST… and help them take a step forward into their real purpose and potential.

You need to be on that journey too.

That’s why you have to surround yourself with people that SEE who YOU really are…

And support you on your path, no matter where it takes you…  or what you have to sacrifice along the way… towards realizing why you’re here.

So… uh… what’s the answer?

Who sees you?

Who acknowledges who you really are on a daily basis?

And no…

I don’t mean your identity.

I don’t mean your accomplishments.

I don’t mean your job or your business.

I mean the metaphysical you;

The essence underneath your meat suit;

The person only your loved ones can feel when they look into your eyes.

Again, I was fortunate to meet my wife — who became someone constantly ready to remind me of who I am… when I needed to remember the most.

She still reminds me — even when it means me going it alone.

There are very few people on the planet like that…

So make sure you find them…

And say thanks for how much you appreciate being truly seen by them.

Because as a marketer… as a product developer… as a service provider… and as a Millionaire Mind Warrior…
